DOW (Door Opening Warning)

DOW (Door Opening Warning)

  • Function: When preparing to open the door after parking, it detects vehicles and non-motorized vehicles approaching from the rear-side, as well as nearby pedestrians, and warns occupants to open the door with caution, thereby preventing collisions caused by opening the door.
  • Warning trigger condition: While the vehicle is stationary (speed is zero), a target (such as a pedestrian, cyclist, or vehicle) is detected approaching within a medium-range distance (e.g., within 10 meters) in an adjacent lane.
  • Pre-opening warning method: When a warning is triggered on the left or right side of the vehicle, the warning light on the corresponding side mirror illuminates, and a flashing warning icon appears on the center console display.
  • Door-opening warning method: If the warning conditions are met on the target side and the driver or a passenger opens the door on that side, the system immediately issues an audible alert.
